Minnesota Wild Sign Jordan Schroeder
The Wild acquired another former Gopher this off season when they signed Jordan Schroeder last week. The former U player and pride of St. Thomas Academy was signed to a two year contract.
As the 22nd overall pick in the 2009 draft by the Canucks, he scored 37 points in 72 games over the course of his first two seasons in the AHL. Last year was an injury plagued campaign for the youngster.
With all this Minnesota talent on one team, it’s going to make getting tickets to Wild games even harder – so be sure to order tickets early, or else you run the risk of missing out on the Wild this season!
Vanek Signs With Wild
The Minnesota Wild signed Thomas Vanek to a three year 19.5 million dollar deal, and in doing so brought the former Golden Gopher back to the State of Hockey.
As if you needed another reason to come out to the X, now you have another – to see the Austrian-born left-winger who led the Gophers to a national championship 11 years ago.
Due to the signing, tickets are selling quickly – so if you want to see Thomas Vanek’s return to the State of Hockey, you need to get tickets today!
Wild vs. Jets at the X on September 27th
The rivalry with the Winnipeg Jets heats up again this year when the Wild face the team on Saturday September 27th at the Xcel Energy Center.
We have tickets at great prices, so although we would prefer to fill the X with only Wild fans, we completely understand if Jets fans end up buying tickets also.
So come on out to the X this fall and witness one of fiercest NHL rivalries going on today!
The Wild Schedule Is Out
The Wild schedule was released during the week, and we have tickets to all the games – both home and away!
The hot selling home game tickets right now include the opener against the Avalanche, November 16th against the Jets, and November 4th against the Penguins. Something tells me people really want to see this Sidney Crosby fella.
The full schedule where you can see all the games and purchase tickets can be viewed here.
Wild Coach Mike Yeo Recieves Contract Extension
Via mnwildfreak.blogspot.com regarding the news that Mike Yeo receieved a contract extension:
And we couldn't be happier. The man deserves it after taking the team into the second round for just the second time in franchise history and posting a total record of 104-82-26 in his first three seasons at the helm.
Here is what Yeo had to say in a release posted on the Wild's website:
”I am very excited to continue to coach the Minnesota Wild and pursue a Stanley Cup for the State of Hockey,” said Yeo. “Our fan support has been amazing and it went to a new level during the playoffs this season. We are all motivated to reward them.”
Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher praised Yeo for the work he has put in over the past three seasons and also said in the release that the organization looks forward to Yeo's ongoing leadership as head coach.
We agree with mnwildfreak, we couldn't be happier. Coach Yeo deserves it.
