More Info

Brian Rolston was born on February 21, 1973. The Flint, Michigan native started playing hockey at the age of five and he cites his brothers, Ron and Greg for getting him into hockey.

After starring at Lake Superior State University for two years, Brian Rolston was drafted eleventh overall in the 1991 NHL draft by the New Jersey Devils. He went on to play for Colorado Avalanche, Boston Bruins and now the Minnesota Wild. The Wild signed Brian Rolston as a free agent on July 7, 2004. In his 11-year career before this season, Rolston has scored 224 goals and has accumulated 511 points.

Rolston has flourished late in his career at the center position for the Wild. He set a new career high and franchise record for points in a season with 79 in the 2005-06 season. In the same year, Rolston, along with Wes Walz, was one of two Minnesota Wild players to appear in all 82 games of the season. His first goal with the Wild was in the season opening win over Calgary Flames on October 5th.

Rolston’s most memorable hockey moment was being part of the 1995 Stanley Cup finals as a relatively young player. His teammates call him “Rolly” and his hobbies include playing golf, guitar and drums. His favorite venue to play at is under the lights at Madison Square Garden, but he loves the Xcel Energy Center as well, calling it his favorite part of Minnesota.
