Cal Clutterbuck
356. Does that number have special meaning to you? Well, to the Clutterbuck household, that number is a golden figure of success. Put simply, during the 2008-2009 NFL season, Cal Clutterbuck made history by recording 356 hits, easily breaking the former season record of 311. That almost averages out to a hit for every day of the calendar year—an impressive feat! Yet we would be remiss to fixate on Cal Clutterbuck’s staggering hit record at the expense of his other hockey triumphs. During the 2008-2009 season, he notched 11 goals and 7 assists, leading to 18 points. He also spent 76 minutes sulking in the penalty box, but that comes with the terrain! Cal Clutterbuck was born on November 18, 1987 and grew up—like most of his fellow NHL players—in Canada. Cal Clutterbuck spent his years of junior hockey on two different teams in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL): the Toronto St. Michael's Majors and Oshawa Generals. But bigger and better dreams called, and Cal Clutterbuck entered the 2006 NHL draft. The Minnesota Wild picked Clutterbuck during the 3rd round as the 72nd player overall. When fellow Wild teammate Pavol Demitra was sidelined with an injury, Cal Clutterbuck was summoned. With excitement and a bit of trepidation, Cal Clutterbuck made his NHL appearance on October 28, 2007 in a match-up against the Colorado Avalanche. The 2009-2010 Minnesota Wild team will be a new, exciting place to play for a young guy like Cal Clutterbuck. Will he find favor among the new coaching staff? Will he get a chance to see lots of ice time? Stay tuned to find out! © 2010 HockeyTicketsMinnesota.com Terms of Service |
