Clayton Stoner is a Port McNeill, British Columbia, Canada native. Clayton Stoner currently plays as a defenseman for the Minnesota Wild. In the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Clayton Stoner was drafted by the Minnesota Wild as the 79th pick. Eventually, in September of 2005, Clayton Stoner was signed on to the Minnesota Wild.
From 2006-07, Clayton Stoner played for Houston in the American Hockey League. During his time with Houston, Stoner played in 65 games and was a real scrapper, accumulating 104 PIM. In 2006, Clayton Stoner also played in three AHL playoff games coming out with a goal, an assist and seven PIM. Clayton Stoner was one of three Wild prospects to play for Tri-City in the World Hockey League from 2004-05. Stoner was also the second on the team with points of 46 and the first on the team with assists at 34.
