Colton Gillies was drafted in 2007 and came to the Minnesota Wild directly as the number 16 overall draft pick.

In fact, 2007 was a stellar year in the life of Colton Gillies. Not only was he drafted by the Minnesota Wild hockey team, but he was also chosen that December to represent Canada at the 2008 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic. All this at just 18 years old!

By 2008, Colton Gillies was getting familiar with NHL play. He saw action in a game against the Boston Bruins in October of that year and by December, he scored his first NHL goal in a match-up against the New York Islanders.

Colton Gillies has the speed and agility to impress other pro players. He is steadily improving his strategies and game plan in order to gain more playing time.
