Meet Guillaume Latendresse, a forward for the Minnesota Wild.
Guillaume Latendresse is originally from Sainte-Catherine, Quebec and currently plays at forward for the Minnesota Wild. In 2005, Latendresse began his NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens. Latendresse was the 2nd round (45th overall) pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Latendresse played junior hockey for three seasons with the Drummondville Voltigeurs in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In 2005, Guillaume Latendresse went to the Montreal Canadiens’ training camp and was returned to the Voltigeurs after. Latendresse attended the training camp again in 2006, which prompted the Montreal Canadiens’ head coach to give Latendresse a three-year contract at the NHL rookie maximum of $850,000. That first season, Latendresse was bumped up to first line and recorded his first career NHL goal against the Edmonton Oilers.
In 2009, Guillaume Latendresse was traded to the Minnesota Wild for Benoit Pouliot. That first season with the Minnesota Wild, Latendresse scored ten goals in his first twenty games. Latendresse is sure to impress the fans in the seasons to come.
