Kyle Brodziak
If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again. These words couldn’t be truer for Kyle Brodziak. When he entered the NHL draft in 2002, he hoped for a contract…and ended up with doors slamming in his face: he was unselected. Brodziak could have given up pro hockey ambitions at that point, but he didn’t. And the rest is history! To back up our narrative, let’s start with the beginning. Kyle Brodziak was born on May 25, 1984 up in St. Paul, Alberta. At fifteen years old, he joined the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL where he developed his game over the next five hockey seasons. Adversity seemed to spur Brodziak. For instance, when he was rejected in the 2002 draft, he headed back to the Moose Jaw Warriors, played his heart out for the 2002-2003 season, and re-entered the draft in 2003 to success: the Oilers picked him in the 7th round! Over the next couple seasons, Kyle Brodziak bounced around the AHL and NHL, developing his defensive skills. He saw the most playing time when an Oiler starter was injured and Brodziak was summoned for five games. Kyle Brodziak played six games in the 2006-2007 season as an injury call-up and he scored his first NHL goal. On June 27, 2009, Brodziak was traded to the Minnesota Wild. The Minnesota Wild welcome Kyle Brodziak and are eager to see what he can do with a new team. He has already proven his determination and strength and a desire to better his game year after year. We’ll have to stay tuned to see how he fits with the team. © 2010 HockeyTicketsMinnesota.com Terms of Service |
