More Info

It’s a source of pride among hockey players young and old: how hard is your slapshot? Well, Marc-Andre Bergeron can safely answer that his slapshot is lethal. At the 2007 Edmonton Oilers skills competition, Marc-Andre Bergeron recorded the hardest slapshot, clocking in at a speedy 103.5 mph. Yikes!

Bergeron has used that strength and snap to his advantage over the years. He grew up in St-Louis-de-France, Quebec and got his start in competitive hockey with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in the QMJHL. He spent the next five seasons in the minor leagues, even earning a spot on the all-star team, before being drafted to the Edmonton Oilers in 2002.

Since 2002, Marc-Andrew Bergeron has played for the Edmonton Oilers, Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL), Brynas Sweden, the Islanders, and the Ducks. In June 2008, the Minnesota Wild scooped him up. Over the years, Bergeron has accumulated 128 points and a berth for the Stanley Cup; however, an injury in December 2008 prevented him from playing in several games with the Minnesota Wild, dropping his goals, assists, and averages.

Marc-Andre Bergeron finished the 2008-2009 hockey season with 14 goals and 18 assists.
