Marek Zidlicky’s favorite movie is Gladiator, he loves riding his motorcycle, and his son’s name is Adam. Despite these three seemingly American attributes, Zidlicky is a full-blooded Czech who still resides in Czechoslovakia during the hockey off-season.

Marek Zidlicky has played extensively in overseas teams. Since 1994, he has been active on various teams in the Czech Republic, Finland, and the Euro league. He was part of the 2001 NHL draft and was a 6th round choice or 176th overall. In 2003-2004, Marek Zidlicky played for the Nashville Predators with 14 goals and 39 assists. He left for a season, but came back in 2005 and played until 2008 with the Predators.

Over the course of his NHL career, Zidlicky has had 31 multi-point games. He also has racked up 175 points over the course of 307 career NHL games during his time with the Nashville Predators. Marek Zidlicky came to the Minnesota Wild in 2008. The Minnesota Wild secured Zidlicky by trading Ryan Jones and a 2009 second round pick. Over the course of the 2008-2009 season on the Minnesota Wild, Zidlicky made 12 goals and 30 assists.

Marek Zidlicky’s favorite hockey memory was helping his team to win the gold medal at the 2005 World Championships in Austria. Let’s hope he can make similar good memories with the Minnesota Wild!
