Sean Hill signed a contract with EHC Biel from Swiss National League.

Sean Hill was born on February 14, 1970 in Duluth, Minnesota. He was acquired by the Minnesota Wild as a free agent on July 6, 2007. He was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 8th round of the 1988 NHL Draft.

In 18 appearances with the Minnesota Wild this season, Sean Hill has two assists with 14 penalties in minutes. Hill’s best year as a pro was in 1999-00, when he compiled 44 points for the Carolina Hurricanes in only 62 games of action. Hill led his squad in time on ice average at 24:31 and hits with 246 that year. He was also second on that club with 24 powerplay points with 24. Another notable campaign for Hill was the 2003-04 season with the Hurricanes, when he notched 39 points on 13 goals in 80 games. In his career, Sean Hill has skated for the Montreal Canadiens, the Anaheim Ducks, the Ottawa Senators, the Carolina Hurricanes, the St. Louis Blues, the Florida Panthers, the New York Islanders and the Minnesota Wild. He has compiled 291 points on 60 goals in 859 games.

Sean Hill’s amateur career included time with the University of Wisconsin WCHA club and the Fredericton AHL team. His final season at Wisconsin saw him rack up 122 penalties in minutes and 51 points on 19 goals. His scoring totals were tops on the team that season.

Sean Hill lives in Duluth, Minnesota with his wife, Margaret, and three children. “Hilly” says his father and grandfather inspired his hockey career the most. He enjoys golf, hunting and fishing in his spare time. His favorite athlete is Pele. Minnesota Wild fans hope to watch a few good hits this season from Sean Hill.
