His first job was a paperboy. His favorite team growing up was the Detroit Red Wings and his favorite player was Steve Yzerman. Other than hockey, White played lacrosse and soccer as a youth.

As an amateur, Todd White played college hockey for four seasons at Clarkson of the ECAC from 1993 to 1997. He was a finalist for the Hobey Baker award in 1997 after scoring 38 goals and 36 assists for 74 points in the 1996-97 season.

In 1997, Todd White was signed by the Chicago Blackhawks and he saw his first NHL action that season. After going up and down between the NHL and IHL from 1997 to 2001, White found a home with the Ottawa Senators in the 2001-02 season. The center’s best season in the NHL perhaps came during the next season, when he skated in 80 games and scored 60 points on 25 goals and 35 assists. In his career, White has played for the Chicago Blackhawks, the Philadelphia Flyers and the Ottawa Senators before being acquired by the Minnesota Wild in a trade for a 2005 fourth round draft choice on July 30, 2005. White’s best season in a Wild uniform came in 2006-07, when he played in 77 games, scored 44 points and skated to a +8 plus/minus rating. Todd White’s career numbers include 414 games played, 97 goals scored, 146 assists and 243 points to go with 142 penalties in minutes.

Todd White is married to a wife, Sarah, and has two daughters, Taylor and Avery. They live in Ottawa during the offseason. “Whitey” enjoys fishing and working out when away from hockey workouts. He likes to watch golf and football on television. White’s favorite road city is one where he formerly played, Chicago. Atlanta’s Philips Arena is his favorite arena to play in on the road.
